Scented Candle Recipes: Candles for Stress, Insomnia, Flu, Headache, and Nasal Congestion

The primary purpose of making scented candles is not only for infusing your home environment with aroma but also setting your mood right, managing stress and anxiety, preventing insomnia, curing health issues like flu, headache, nasal congestion etc.  Based on the type of essential oils used on the scented candles, you can burn scented candles to cure various health issues. For instance, if the scented candled have lavender aroma, it can be used to promote good sleep and manage stress. If peppermint oils have been used on the candle, it can help you if you have nasal congestion.

Here are scented candle ideas that you can try yourself for various health issues.

Stress and insomnia buster candles

Things you need

Essential oils: Rose essential oil, Ylang-Ylang essential oil, and lavender essential oil

Soy wax

Candle container, candle wick, cups, wooden spoon, plastic wrap etc.

Method

Mix 1 drop of rose essential oil, 3 drops of Ylang-Ylang essential oil, and 3 drops of lavender essential oil.

Take three tablespoon of soy wax and put in a cup. Cover the cup with a plastic wrap and put into the microwave for 10 to 15 seconds. Take the cup out, stir the wax with the wooden spoon and put inside microwave again for 10 seconds. Repeat this price for several times until the wax is melted.

Now pour the essential oils in the melted wax and stir with the wooden spoon.

Fix a wick on the bottom of the candle container. Pour the mixture of wax and essential oils.

Let the wax cool down for 10 minutes and then place the candle in the fridge for a couple of hours.

When you burn the candle fragrance will slowly release and this fragrance will help you get steep and de-stress.

Candles for flu, headache and nasal congestion

Things you need

Essential oils: Clary Sage essential oil, Star Anise essential oil, and Peppermint essential oil

Soy wax

Candle container

Candlewick

Plastic wrap, cops, wooden spoon etc.

Method

Add 2 drops of Clary Sage essential oil, 5 drops of Star Anise essential oil, and 5 drops of Peppermint essential oil in a cup and mix the oils properly.

Heat 3 tablespoons of Soy wax in a microwave. When the wax is melted, add the essential oils and stir with the wooden spoon.

Fix a wick in the candle container and pour the mixture of wax and essential oils. When the wax hardens, your candle is ready. You will be relieved from flu, headache and nasal congestion when you burn this candle.

Insect repellent candles

Things you need:

Essential oils: Lavender essential oil, Geranium essential oil and Lemongrass essential oil

Soy wax

Candle jar

Candle wick

Plastic wrap, cups, wooden spoon etc.

Method

Add 5 drops of Lemongrass essential oil, 10 drops of Lavender essential oil, and 5 drops of Geranium essential oil in a cup and blend the oils.

Put 3 tablespoons of Soy wax in a cup and put inside a microwave until it melts. Add essential oils to the melted wax. Fix wick in a candle container and pour wax. When the candle cools down, place it in the fridge for two hours in order to harden the wax. Your insect repellent candle is ready.
